Join a 3-day shared group tour from Marrakech to Merzouga, crossing the High Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert in a small-group minivan. Visit the UNESCO-listed Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, walk through the Todra Gorge, and ride camels into the Erg Chebbi dunes for a night under the stars at a desert camp, before returning to Marrakech via the palm groves of the Draa Valley.
Early morning pickup (around 7:00-7:30 AM) from your riad or hotel in Marrakech in a shared, air-conditioned minivan, joining other travellers for the trip.
Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka pass, group visit of the UNESCO-listed Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou including a crossing of the Ounila River, then continue through Ouarzazate and the Valley of the Roses to Dades Gorge, where you spend the night, with dinner and breakfast included.
Stop at the scenic viewpoints of Dades Gorge, then walk along the riverbed of the towering Todra Gorge. Continue via Erfoud, with an optional short stop at a fossil workshop, before reaching Erg Chebbi for a sunset camel ride into the dunes and an overnight stay at the desert camp under the stars, with dinner and Berber drumming around the campfire.
Wake early for a sunrise camel ride over the Erg Chebbi dunes, then enjoy breakfast and some pool time at the lodge before departing. Drive back to Marrakech through the palm groves and kasbahs of the Draa Valley, with a lunch stop along the way (own expense). Cross the High Atlas again via Tizi n'Tichka in the afternoon, with drop-off in Marrakech around 6:00-7:00 PM.
