Cross Morocco from Marrakech to Fes on this shared 3-day desert tour via Merzouga. Drive over the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n’Tichka pass, visit the UNESCO-listed ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, walk the riverbed of the Todra Gorge, and ride a camel into the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi at sunset. Two nights are included, one in the gorges and one in a desert camp under the stars.
You travel in a small group of no more than 17 in an air-conditioned minibus, at 120 EUR per person. This is a one-way tour: instead of returning to Marrakech with the group, you are transferred on day 3 from Merzouga to Fes by comfortable private taxi, with stops along the way. If you would rather have your own vehicle and set your own pace, the private version of this route is also available.

Price is per person and includes shared minibus transport, a licensed driver, 2 nights accommodation with half-board (dinner and breakfast), both camel treks, and the day 3 taxi transfer to Fes. No single supplement.
Pickup from your riad or hotel in Marrakech in a shared, air-conditioned minibus, joining other travellers for the trip. Departure is between 7:00 to 7:30 am, and the exact pickup time is confirmed the day before.
Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka pass at 2,260 m, then stop at the UNESCO-listed ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, where a local guide is available on site for about 3 EUR. Continue through Ouarzazate and the Valley of the Roses to the gorges, at Dades, Tinghir or Kalaa M'Gouna depending on availability, for the night with dinner and breakfast. Lunch along the way is not included.
Drive the Road of 1,000 Kasbahs to Tinghir and walk the flat riverbed of the Todra Gorge, where limestone walls rise 300 metres on either side. Continue through Erfoud and Rissani, the old caravan town at the edge of the Sahara, before the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi come into view. A sunset camel trek takes the group into the dunes to reach the desert camp, where dinner is served under the stars, followed by Berber drumming around the campfire.
Rise early for the sunrise camel ride over the Erg Chebbi dunes, then breakfast at camp. From here your journey separates from the group, which drives back to Marrakech: you continue north to Fes in a comfortable private taxi included in the price, with stops along the way. The road follows the Ziz Valley and its palm groves, passes Errachidia and Midelt, where you can stop for lunch (not included), then climbs through the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas near Ifrane. Arrival in Fes in the late afternoon, with drop-off at your riad or hotel.

A Berber camp in the Erg Chebbi dunes with a private tent, dinner and breakfast included, and shared bathroom facilities. Sandboards are available at the camp. A luxury camp upgrade with an ensuite tent and hot shower can be booked at reservation.
