The Ouzoud Waterfalls are Morocco's highest, dropping around 100 metres into a lush canyon in the Atlas Mountains, about 150 km from Marrakech, surrounded by olive groves, Berber villages, and monkeys.
The trip usually lasts around 10 to 11 hours. You'll leave Marrakech in the morning (around 8:00 AM) and return in the evening.
The trail down to the base of the falls is easy to moderate, on stone steps and dirt paths, suitable for most fitness levels. Comfortable shoes are recommended, and it can get busy with local visitors and monkeys along the way.
Lunch is not included. You can eat at one of the terrace restaurants overlooking the falls, paid on the spot.
A local guide is not included in the base price. You can add one for 3 euros per person, optional, when booking or on the day.
The traditional boat ride under the falls costs 2 euros per person if booked with us in advance, or 3 euros per person if paid on-site, not included in the base price.
Yes, most travellers find it worth the small extra cost, it takes you right up to the base of the falls for a cooling spray and some of the best photos of the trip, in just a few minutes.
Comfortable shoes for the hike, a swimsuit if you want to swim, sunscreen, and cash for lunch or the optional boat ride.
