Begin your Sahara Desert tour from Marrakech with a hotel pickup and head through the scenic High Atlas Mountains, crossing the famous Tizi n’Tichka pass, the highest road in North Africa. Enjoy views of green valleys, traditional Berber villages, and rocky desert landscapes. Visit the UNESCO-listed Ksar Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco’s most iconic sites, with a local guide. Take in the stunning views and enjoy lunch at a nearby restaurant (not included). Continue your desert tour to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gate to the Desert.” You can choose to visit the Atlas Film Studios (optional). Then explore Kasbah Taourirt, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. On the way to the Dades Valley, stop at Rose Valley to visit a rose water cooperative. Spend the night in a local hotel or traditional riad near the Dades Gorges.
After breakfast, continue your journey through the Dades Valley toward the breathtaking Todra Gorges, famous for its 300-metre-high cliffs. Walk along the river and enjoy the palm-filled oasis of Tineghir. Travel along the old caravan route toward the Merzouga Desert, passing through Erfoud, a town known for fossils and black marble. Stop in Tinjdad for lunch (not included). Reach the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes, where your camel trekking in Merzouga begins. Enjoy a sunset camel ride across the golden sands to reach your Sahara Desert camp. At the camp, sip traditional mint tea, enjoy dinner, and relax under the stars. You’ll sleep in a comfortable Berber tent or, if you prefer, outside beneath the open sky. After dinner, join the team around the fire for Berber drumming and music.
Wake up early to see the sunrise over the Sahara Desert from a high dune. After breakfast at the camp, return to the edge of the desert by camel ride or 4x4 vehicle, where your driver will be waiting. Begin the long drive back from the Merzouga desert to Marrakech, passing through the Draa Valley and enjoying scenic desert landscapes. Stop along the way for lunch and rest breaks (lunch not included). You will arrive in Marrakech in the evening, ending your unforgettable 3-day Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour.
