Itinerary

Your private Merzouga desert tour from Marrakech begins with a pick-up from your riad at 8:00 am. You will travel toward Ouarzazate via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m), the highest road pass in Morocco. Enjoy panoramic views of the High Atlas Mountains and beautiful landscapes dotted with small Berber villages. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou, one of the most impressive and well-preserved kasbahs in Morocco. Built on a hilltop, it has been the filming location for famous movies such as Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. The view from the top of the kasbah is breathtaking and worth the walk through its narrow streets. Continue along the Road of One Thousand Kasbahs, passing the Skoura Oasis, then visit the Valley of the Roses in Kelaa M’Gouna, known for its rose fields and traditional rose products such as rose water, creams, and soaps. The journey continues past the unique rock formations of the Tamnalt Hills before arriving at the Dades Gorge, shaped over centuries by the Dades River. The red and mauve rock cliffs create a stunning natural landscape. Overnight stay in Dades Gorge with dinner and breakfast included. You will enjoy a private room with a private bathroom, hot water, and excellent local food.

After a relaxed breakfast in Dades Gorge, we depart toward the impressive Todra Gorge, one of the highest oases in Morocco. The gorge is carved into the ochre-colored cliffs of the High Atlas Mountains, with rock walls rising up to 300 meters and narrowing to just 20 meters at some points. We then continue to Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Upon arrival, your private guide and camels will be waiting to take you across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Enjoy a camel trek through the desert at sunset, lasting about one hour, until you reach your desert camp. At the camp, you will be welcomed with traditional mint tea followed by a delicious tagine dinner. Spend a magical night under the stars with Berber music. Overnight in a nomad-style tent, with dinner and breakfast included.

Wake up early to enjoy the sunrise over the dunes of Erg Chebbi, one of the most beautiful moments of the desert. After breakfast, depart for Fes, traveling through the scenic Ziz Valley and the cedar forests of Azrou, where you can see a colony of monkeys along the way. There will be several stops to stretch your legs, take photos, and enjoy coffee or lunch as you travel through the valleys, forests, and mountains. Your private tour ends with a drop-off at your riad or hotel in Fes around 6:00 PM.
